Shannon Wall

Welcome! I’m Shannon, a Pacific Northwest artist and lifelong lover of the natural world. After spending 35 years building a career as an electrical engineer, I’m embracing a long-held dream of becoming a professional artist. It’s an exciting new chapter—one that allows me to slow down, reconnect with my creative side, and spend my days doing something I’ve loved for many years.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where beaches, forests, mountains, and water were always close by. I spent much of my childhood outside, and those early experiences left me with a deep appreciation for the beauty and changing moods of this place. Today, the landscapes and seascapes around me continue to be my greatest source of inspiration.
I discovered painting in the early 2000s when I signed up for a local art class. I quickly fell in love with the freedom of putting paint on a canvas and seeing where the process would take me. Even while pursuing my engineering career, painting remained an important creative outlet—and a dream I never quite let go of.
My work is inspired by the feeling of being in nature as much as by the landscape itself. I love loose, expressive forms, unexpected color, and lots of texture and layers. Rather than trying to recreate a scene exactly as I see it, I’m interested in capturing a mood, a memory, a moment of light, or simply the feeling of standing somewhere beautiful.
I believe art is a journey of exploration. Every painting is an opportunity to experiment, discover something unexpected, and see the world a little differently.
